Sphere + Sundry’s classic Asclepius incense formula, ritually created on an election featuring the Moon conjunct the Divine Physician’s patron star, Ras Alhague, in trinal application to the exalted Aries Sun conjunct the IC of the chart.
Home-grown white sage native to Southern Oregon and incense cedar, each harvested in the day and hour of Sol following a recitation of The Harvesting Prayer of Thessalos as the Sun exalted in Aries, Rose of Jericho, and frankincense resin.
Available in two formulas — an incense powder which can be made into a mound or sigil on a fireproof surface and lit directly, or a loose blend, which must be burned on charcoal.
Clears away negative energies and helps facilitate transformation. Smoke bathe the full body, especially before bed, or suffumigate rooms and objects in need or purification or designed to heal and banish. Burn in offering to Asclepius and smoke photos or icons of those in need to healing before or during prayer. I used some Hermanubis materia for the first time on Halloween night, trying to learn more about the spirits that I was told inhabit my home. I performed a ritual in the room where my grandmother used to reside, and some peculiar stuff happened. The bed creaked as if someone had sat on the mattress when I asked to know who these spirits were, and creaked again as if someone had risen from the bed when I closed the ritual and asked Hermanubis to deliver any lingering spirits to wherever they would be best served. I felt a bit spooked afterward, and the room felt uncomfortable.
So I burned this incense for the first time, and felt the heaviness immediately lift. The room actually felt even better than it did before I started the ritual (that room always felt weird before), and I felt much more comfortable. I’ve actually spent a lot of time in there since, instead of avoiding it like I used to. I’m so glad I bought this with the Hermanubis materia!

I used the incense yesterday, Wednesday, during a full moon to thank Asclepius, and help clear away negative energy. So far, I’ve only used 1-2 S&S incenses, and I find that I like to add them to a burning candle, because a little goes a long way. It smells sagey and clean, and definitely great for purification.

As part of a community healing ritual, Asc III has been integral to shifting stuck and tricky physical and mental situations for people I care about, and for that I’m so grateful.
This is also my go to for New Moon clearings and resetting. Such refreshment and renewal! Thank goodness it’s an evergreen series so I won’t have to do without it.

I love this incense so very much — it’s absolutely perfect for use in smoke bathing, dispelling unwanted/unwelcome/expired energy from a space, and even lightens the mind & heart of unnecessary cares & obstructive thoughts (highly relevant to 2020’s ongoing…. 2020-ness).
