    An activation ritual of the Valknut by Robert Fitzgerald, including a post-working sigilization / petition technique for the realization of particular ends, contributed by Kaitlin Coppock. Either can be performed standalone.

    Mr. Fitzgerald shares —

    The symbol of the valknutr was chosen for the Saturn in Aquarius series due primarily to its tri-form construction, in resonance with the 3 wave symbol for Aquarius. As an energetic pattern it is stable as well as a (literal) movable feast, meaning : it excels at not only binding, but transformation.

    This is its original function, in keeping with the innate purity of Saturnian force.

    It should be noted that the valknutr, along with many other Nordic symbols (especially various runes) have been appropriated by white supremacist groups over the last forty years or so. The symbol, along with our Coterie, has absolutely no connection to, nor affiliation with, such racist applications. The symbol is herein utilized due to its appropriateness, whereas it has been appropriated by Neo-Nazis. The difference is obvious and apposite to the divine truth inherent in the symbol itself.

    Let’s get this out of the way from the outset: Glykon is hilarious.

    and often thought of as a lie!

    So when I approached Robert Fitzgerald about a ritual collaboration for this series, and he suggested one involving dream incubation a la Glykon, I was somewhat tentative. AND YET, we at Sphere + Sundry are not in the business of bossing around our collaborators! — each enjoys full creative control of their contributions.

    We also fancy ourselves open to experimentation, and value humor as much as efficacy, so… that’s how we alll got here!

    What I find fascinating about this is 1. even if Glykon *began* as a hoax, that does not mean he stayed one. Chaos Magic has a lot to offer on that subject, and Glykon’s Cult was very real, persisting for over 100 years. And second, the fixed star Ras Alhague — the one used to invoke Asclepius — kinda sorta belongs to a hoax itself, in the form of Ophiuchus, dread (alleged!) “13th Sign” of the perfectly complete with 12, thanks, Zodiac.

    Perform in good faith (ideally multiple times), and do report back! Our powers combined, we can help breathe new life into a bygone snake-puppet cult!

    Of the Rite, Robert offers:

    The Transfiguration of Glykon is a votive ritual observance prefaced by a mythologem detailing a specific Apollon/Aesclepian lineage wherein the chimeric godling of Dream, Glykon, is praised and utilized as a means of oneiric healing.     Beneficial on all levels of being and sentience, the Glykonian rite allows the Adorant to process within their own Mind/Body complex transfigurative healing that derives from the energia of the deity itself. The Dreaming Self is ultimately purified, contributing to maximum physical and psychic health.

    The art created for this series was exacted at the correct hour and day following several days of fasting, prayers and solar devotions. The ankh, symbol of Going Forth and of immortal life, was added to the ram’s head after seeing a glowing version of it in dream. As the sun is eternal, so shall be the soul of those exalted beneath its beneficence. Thus, the piece is called ‘The Ascension of Amoun-Ra’ and is designed to be used as an altar image and focus of meditation.

    The Ascension of Amoun-Ra: Raising the Pylons of the Sun is a votive ritual observance by which the solar sheaths of the physical, astral and etheric bodies are fortified and cleansed. For the ancient Egyptians no greater sun god existed than ram-headed Amoun-Ra. He was the literal and living embodiment of the sun. As such he established beside him for centuries a retinue of solar avatars who expressed specific attributes and powers needful for the full expansion of his cult. These were sometimes referred to as ‘pylons’: sentient manifestations of power which could confer upon devotees a wide array of abilities and talents. They were especially proficient at the rites of purity. ‘Raising the Pyons’ are designed to evoke into one’s bodies and souls the characteristics of these solar hypostases, and thus exalt the Royal Uraeus Crown to the Ba-Heart of Amoun-Ra.

    One of the pieces in his collection is an exact replica of the Hermanubis statue on display in the Vatican Museum created during the 1st-2nd century AD.

    Statues are currently only available in white, and stand just under 5″ tall. Every set from the Hermanubis series includes the statue completely gratis. This set includes the items necessary for performing the Opening of the Mouth and Eyes ceremony, a ritual performed on the dead Pharaohs, mummies, and statues of ancient Egypt in order that they may speak, breathe, and see — to wake them.

    Wooden boxes with sliding latches were painted during the night of the New Moon in Taurus conjunct Algol. Painted black on the outside with no distinctive seals, both for discretion and to stow away the bulk of Algol’s charge when not in use, the inside is bright red.

    The ‘ceiling’ of the box features an Algol seal, so as to represent the fixed star looking down from the heavens, and also to serve as a meditative aid while open and in use. The interior base of each box has a pattern denoting the constellation of Perseus, with a vesica piscis representing Algol’s position.

    Each box contains one Algol candle, one bottle of Algol oil, and one talismanic Algol Eye with accompanying toothpick, which can be used in the manner of any nail, thorn, or pin for the purposes of binding or maleficia. All of these items fit neatly inside the box, making for a complete set from the Algol New Moon 2018 series.
